A brief history

Inspired by the traditions of the Aran Isles. The folklore and tales of the islands have connected Celtic families for generations.

The Aran Islands are home to a close community of farmers and fisherman. Living just off the coast of Galway the Aran Islands face the wrath of the Atlantic Ocean every day. The classic Aran Sweater was created here with a signature cable knitted for every fisherman and the traditional designs have been passed down through the generations. Today, the Aran cable knit is now recognised as a definitive symbol of Celtic heritage.
